Every year doctors across the country prescribe thousands of drugs to Canadians. Inevitably, some of these drugs have the potential to seriously harm some patients. Last year, Health Canada created a committee to advise the government on how to inform Canadians about these risks. Alan Cassels is a pharmaceutical policy researcher at the University of Victoria.
