Militant teachers union in Puerto Rico heads off raid

Following a 10-day, island-wide public school strike a year ago, the Federación de Maestros de Puerto Rico lost its legal recognition. This set the stage for a raid by what Puerto Rican teachers call a company union backed by the SEIU. Steve Early is a Boston-based labour journalist. He tells the story of the U.S. union's unsuccessful attempt to take over the FMPR.
