Clive Doucet is a writer, city councilor and urban activist. In 1997 he first ran for regional councillor in Ottawa. He was re-elected in 2000 and again in 2003 with a large majority as a champion of public transit.

He’s a writer with a dozen books published and has written extensively on his Acadian roots including his bestselling memoir, My Grandfather’s Cape Breton.

His new book is titled Urban Meltdown: Cities, Climate Change and Politics as Usual. It’s a reflection on over 40 years of urban activism towards sustainable cities.

On Jan 15, Clive Doucet spoke at the Vancouver Public Library at an event sponsored by the Necessary Voices Society.
