Privatizing the public power system in British Columbia

Marjorie Griffin Cohen says British Columbians will see the cost of electricity rise sharply following the construction of all new power generation projects in the province by the private sector.

Marjorie Griffin Cohen is an economist and professor of political science and women's studies at Simon Fraser University.

She gave a talk in Vancouver on September 18 about the dangers of allowing privately built and operated run-of-the-river hydro projects to go ahead unchallenged.
