The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled key parts of Bill 29 unconstitutional. The B.C. Liberals passed Bill 29 in 2002 and used it to tear up contracts with British Columbia's health unions.
The law opened the door to privatization, contracting out, layoffs by the thousands and plummeting wages in hospitals and long term care facilities across the province.
The decision is expected to lead to big changes in the province's health care system when it comes into effect a year from now. We speak with Mike Old of the HEU. >> get more info
