With the Olympics only 4 years away, Whistler is under pressure to upgrade its wastewater plant. The municipal council have decided to take operation of the plant out of the public sector and go with a public-private partnership. The Council of Canadians says that once any kind of water is privatized, all water becomes a commodity. Pina Belperio is with the local chapter of the Council of Canadians.
