Whistler merchants fear Olympic shutout

| January 22, 2009

Show Notes:

Whistler council called a special Olympic meeting just two days before Christmas to give third reading to a bylaw that will relax many of the usual municipal regulations for the period of the 2010 Olympics.

In a surprise vote, councilors refused to pass the bylaw despite strong pressure from Whistler's mayor. The newly-elected councilors want to know what exactly VANOC is planning for their town.
