Wangechi Mutu is attempting to address (or redress) issues related to beauty, racism, and African identity.  This is particularly evident in her Arch Collection which uses pornographic images as a base with African indigenous photographs overlayed in an effort to conceal one titillating stereotype with the impression of another.
