Here we go again folks, so much for the new ambasador.
In the interview, Macdonald asked Napolitano to clarify comments she made last month that the Canadian and Mexican borders must be treated equally.
"Yes, Canada is not Mexico. It doesn't have a drug war going on; it didn't have 6,000 homicides that were drug-related last year," Napolitano said.
"Nonetheless, to the extent that terrorists have come into our country or suspected or known terrorists have entered our country across a border, it's been across the Canadian border. There are real issues there."
When Macdonald asked if she was referring to the 9/11 perpetrators, Napolitano answered: "Not just those but others as well."

The comments are funny and telling. Some point out that the love in with Obama is going to be short lived if the people in his cabinet continue to prove how uninformed they are. Or as we all knew business as usual.
This is hilarious! The 9/11 perpetrators were given flight training in the US. Six months AFTER 9/11 - the US gov't issued a Visa to one of the perpetrators - who was obviously dead. And they blame Canada?
Here we go again folks, so much for the new ambasador.
Correction, thorin, she's not the new ambassador - she's Mr. Obama's freaking hand-picked Secretary of Homeland Security. Another bold departure from the Bush-Cheney days.
ETA: Whoops, I see you made a reference in your second post to "cabinet", so I guess you realized who she was after all.
I got turned around a bit because of the mike wilson ref, and you can't change your opening post(my spell check doesn't work either)...thanks new babble.
It also has a sub-article WTR to us being charged to cross the border to pay for their homeland security. The truckers are pissed.
Protectionism if necessary, but not necessarily protectionism?
I caught just the last ten minutes of The National last night, but I was just in time to watch Rex Murphy completely skewer this ignorant piece of shit - and at the end, Murphy called for her resignation and replacement. Holy cow!
Yeah, Rex would get worked up when anyone questions Canada's front-line dedication to the War on Terror.
He didn't mention our involvement in any wars at all - IIRC he reminded Nap. that the 9/11 perpetrators entered the USA from Europe and Saudi Arabia, and that they trained in American flight school academies.
Senator John McCain backs up Napolitano's lies:
http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2009/04/24/mccain-border-canada-911.html
"Well, some of the 9/11 hijackers did come through Canada, as you know," McCain, last year's Republican presidential candidate, said on Fox News on Friday."
They spelled Faux wrong.
US Responsible for 9/11?
Of course Scholars for 9/11 [12] and many other rational, eminent and technically expert people also have profound scepticism about the Bush version. Indeed the "penny has dropped" for even the long-suffering American people aka "mushrooms" (kept in the dark and fed manure)
- recent polls indicate that one third of Americans believe that the US Government was involved (e.g. see: "More than a third of the American public suspects that federal officials assisted in the 9/11 terrorist attacks or took no action to stop them so the United States could go to war in the Middle East, according to a new Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll [13]". . . To quote Professors Ganser and Stahel on their 3 hypotheses: "There are three theories, which we should treat equally:
Drugs, Kosovo, Iraq, Terrorism...
Neopolitan isn't misguided, just diplomatic.
Afghanistan is another man's war and too obviously unwinnable.
This is the new 'War on Tourism' - just as illogical but much easier to spell.
Fair warning to student hostels, I guess.
The meek shall inherit the earth once the US diplomatic corps are done with it.
As Miss Boyle would say, "Shame" (or merda equina).
Someone should tell her that NAFTA and SPP actually do represent threats to Canada's national security and sovereign decision making. Damn it, Janet.
Napolitano may have inadvertently let the truth slip. Who says Crazy George didn't order his Ottawa lackeys to slip some Islamic Gladio warriors across the border from this frozen Northern Puerto Rico, when no one was looking?
I think Bernie Ebbers and Lord dark helmet of black harbour are Canadians who infiltrated the capitalist skunkworks down thataway. They might be considered frozen hosers and terrorists/economic hitmen suspected of false flag gladio.
Regardless of whether we agree that the US committed this against it's own people, the point is, even their fake reports said the "terrorists" came from within their system and had nothing to do with Canada. People wonder why anti-americanism continues to thrive. Take responsibility for the mess you damn well made for once. Just like the cons in Ottawa. Never admitting to anything wrong, just use the old...but but the liberals did this while in power. Yeah but you assholes came in on the promise of at least trying to be better than the libs, and you have been in power for 3 years. Gotta start taking credit and blame for what happens. Can't have it one way only.
Oh and McCain is truly a piece of shit. When contacted by canadian consulate about his national news gaff "We'll look into it"
Yeah I am sure you will. Just like the yellow cake lie or link of Saddam to Al Q. Fucking lying as usual to cover up what they did. Please don't look behind the curtain I am the great and powerful USA. A pathetic nation hiding behind a facade of fading power.
Well, we have ari fletcher working for us now, why not get him to clear it up? ;)
Oh just a thought, perhaps ari was hired to convince Canadians they entered through our border though? :D
And little Stevie Harpo now has access to US news services, so why doesn't he go on air and clear it up?
I think the name is "Ari Feltcher" but I could be wrong.
This is all in effort to plug up our border, to make exporting to the U.S. as unattractive as possible. It's using regulation to do an end run around NAFTA. As I said above, protectionism if necessary, but not necessarily protectionism.
It seems to me that the real point in the repetition of this statement is to create fear and hostility toward Canada in the United States.
This is all in effort to plug up our border, to make exporting to the U.S. as unattractive as possible. It's using regulation to do an end run around NAFTA. As I said above, protectionism if necessary, but not necessarily protectionism.
Whatever, ;) tongue in cheek point remains.
But good point on the NAFTA end run, but why exactly?
China, holds their debt, and they are paying it off/getting more by importing from China, are they increasing imports from China, and not Canada, in order to sustain their economy?
No, I think it's just opportunistic. Every time there's an issue of health or safety, the U.S. will use that issue to slow our exports if it helps their domestic economic or political interests. The long delay on reopening the boarder to Canadian beef after the "Mad Cow" problem is probably the most obvious example.
Of course, the proper way to deal with this issue is to reduce our energy exports to the U.S. by checking the oil and electricity for suspected Al Queda terrorists.
We should block the US's terrorist television transmissions into Canada and jail those who distribute US media here.
After all, there is a precedent.
I wouldn't ban Faux News or it's affiliates. I'd just demand that cable providers hire a staff of fact checkers, and put Faux on a 12 hour delay so the Canadian public wouldn't be subjected to anti-Canadian lies.
And, there's precedent for that, if we remember the Al Jezeera CRTC ruling.
Well Tommy have to agrre with you. This is what we did to get Japan to put autoplants here. We checked every vehicle making it prohibitive for them to ship them here from over seas. It's technically legal but dirty pool.
They take advantage of anything to help their domestic market I don't blame them as much as I wish we would do the same. If we had learned to do this we would never have signed either FTA or NAFTA...though I can see how the SPP will be a rousing success at least that's how the papers are calling it. The problem is we aren't allowed to cut back on exports of oil cuz we are stupid and actually follow the rules of NAFTA. All the more reason to go green is to be able to claw back on the amount we export. Sorry we don't use oil anymore I guess we have to shut down your bad habit too ;P
As it stands they have put a grievance in this last 2 weeks. Not much talk about chapter 11 just that we are being sue under Nafta. I can't remember what the reason or product was. It was that fleeting on the news. Why won't the MSMS examine this issue on one of those half hour national docs after peter is done spouting con talking points for the day?
al-Qa'eda trainer in terrorism and hijackings, Ali Mohammed, actually did cross the border several times in 1993. The RCMP arrested him in Vancouver just months after the first truck bombing of the WTC in NYC of the same year. And with one phone call to the American FBI, the Canucks realized Mohamed was a deep, deep-deep undercover "al-Qa'eda" double agent for the US FBI. They didnt realize Mohamed was also deeply involved with the CIA and US military, and so they released him after some time in Toronto. Clear as water?
9/11's Trainer in Terrorism Was an FBI Informant 2006
But what we have heard so far is a fall-back cover-up of even worse truths. Peter Lance, who first wrote the script for the National Geographic special, told about Mohamed's detention and release in Toronto. This important detail, along with others, was cut from the program. Lance withdrew from the project and complained on his website about these and other cuts, such as this one:
"Within days of 9/11 Cloonan ... interviewed Ali, whom the Feds had allowed to slip into witness protection, and demanded to know the details of the plot. At that point Ali wrote it all out - including details of how he'd counseled would-be hijackers on how to smuggle box cutters on board aircraft and where to sit, to effect the airline seizures."(9)
So let us sum up what we know so far about Ali Mohamed:
