Iraq: A Massacred Generation - by Layla Anwar
http://arabwomanblues.blogspot.com/2009/07/massacred-generation.html [1]
"...in prisons, aged between 10 and 17. Some were showing the signs of torture on their ever so frail bodies, confirming what I have been saying all along, they were not only tortured but also regularly raped as well, in these prisons.."
'Another more recent myth about Canadian Foreign policy in the Middle East is that this country did not participate in the 2002 invasion of Iraq, which most neutral observers say was a war crime under international law...Despite the Canadian and media spin, it is clear that Canada was a close and willing ally in the invasion and occupation of Iraq. "What the Canadian government has done with regard to Iraq is to involve itself militarily, in largely covert fashion, but to publicly try to take the moral high ground in opposition to the war." Former US ambassador to Ottawa Paul Cellucci provided a good summary of Canada's role in Iraq. "Ironically, the Canadians indirectly provide more support for us in Iraq than most of those 46 countries that are fully supporting us.."
The Black Book of Canadian Foreign Policy - Yves Engler 2009 P. 45

Inept At Both Killing and Coddling Terrorists
http://www.thestar.com/comment/article/674945
"Washington is angry at Baghdad because Iraqi troops recently stormed a camp north of Baghdad belonging to the Mujahideen-e-Khalq"
Very interesting and humorous at the same time. Investigative news journalist Seymour Hersh reported in an interview with NPR [14] one year ago that the Bush war criminals budgeted $400 million dollars for covert operations inside Iran. And that they were training anti-Iran terrorist organizations Jondollah and Mujahid-e-Khalq, both of which have clear track records as terrorists, and even against the US.
This is in addition to Hersh's previous reports that "al-Qa'eda", that CIA database of expendible jehadi assets, have been marauding throughout Iraq and attacking the enemies of their friends in the CIA and US military. ie. theyve launched attacks against the true anti-American insurgents in Iraq. Theyve been waging phony war there, too.

The racist sunni arabs always attack the Shiites of Iraq as "Iranians" and "Persian Zoaoroastrians"! Saddam and his predecessors expelled millions from Iraq under that pretence; people who had lived in Iraq longer than any Sunnis. Not to take into account that Iraq has traditionally been the birth place of Shiism and the most important Shia centre in the world prior to the rise of Safavid in Iran.
To these racists, if the 65% Shia Arab people of Iraq demand their rightful share of country's government, that is "iranian colonization".
Wouldn't it be sectarianism in this instance, as opposed to racism?
Wouldn't it be sectarianism in this instance, as opposed to racism?
It should be, but they make it a race issue, by labeling the shia Arabs "Iranians" or "Persians" as a deragotary term.

Not necessarily. Back then Nazi sympathizers also thought they would some day take revenge on Nuremberg trial judges and prosecutors. Talk is cheap. Considering that Saddam supporters believe it was Iranians or their agents who executed him, I am quite surprised that you are implicitly condemning my nation to hanging for the execution of one mass murderer. This is quite uncharacteristic. If the Israelis had the right to punish Eichmann, So did we. Although personally I preferred to see Saddam handed over to Iran than executed in Baghdad.

What a bizarre connection. I of course was talking about the murderers of Saddam and their friends - the U.S. and its puppets everywhere - surely you don't think they will escape justice in Kabul and Baghdad one day? Did you read Kabul or Baghdad as being in Iran? Shall I email you a map of the region?
Please be slow to applaud the murder of political leaders by the invaders and their puppet regimes.

I note a difference here between invaders (the US and coalition army) and a government in Baghdad that, in delievring justice to Saddam, carried out the wishes of a large majority of its people. I also don't agree that the current Iraqi government is a "US puppet". It is beseiged by the presence of the US army, but its foreign and domestic policies are not fully aligned with the wishes of the US government. I used to consider Maleki as an Iranian puppet, but he has also shown signs of independence from Iranian influence. The neocon men in Baghdad - like Ayad Alavi and Chelebi - were forced out of the positions of power after a short while after invasion. The US might have won the invasion, but certainly was not able to establish the kind of government neocons wanted.
Glad you approve of the regime in Baghdad and their taste for "justice". Tell me, was the Shah "fully aligned with the wishes of the US government"?
Glad you approve of the regime in Baghdad and their taste for "justice". Tell me, was the Shah "fully aligned with the wishes of the US government"?
Shah was. Was there any occasion when he did something against their wishes?
I did not say I approve the regime in Baghdad. Just that they are far less of a US puppet than most "independent" Arab regimes of the region, from Saudi to Egypt to Pakistan to Jordan, are. and that's in presence of a large US army in their land. Once that army is gone, I don't see them end up as US allies. Also in my view, they do represent a sizable section of Iraq's population.
I see. So the U.S. invaded Iraq... why? Weapons of mass destruction? Revenge for the humiliation of G. Bush Sr? To bring freedom and democracy to the Iraqi people? They mixed up Osama with Saddam (those durned furrin soundin names)? For the heck of it? And they're going to leave now ("once that army is gone") and wish the Iraqi people good luck with their oil and strategic location?

of course not; but nations with long histories know that invading empires come and go. The US will not be able to stay there forever.

Blair's fight to keep his oil cash secret
Tony Blair waged an extraordinary two-year battle to keep secret a lucrative deal with a multinational oil giant which has extensive interests in Iraq.
The former Prime Minister tried to keep the public in the dark over his dealings with South Korean oil firm UI Energy Corporation.
Mr Blair - who has made at least £20million since leaving Downing Street in June 2007 - also went to great efforts to keep hidden a £1million deal advising the ruling royal family in Iraq's neighbour Kuwait.
In an unprecedented move, he persuaded the committee which vets the jobs of former ministers to keep details of both deals from the public for 20 months, claiming it was commercially sensitive. The deals emerged yesterday when the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments finally lost patience with Mr Blair and decided to ignore his objections and publish the details.

Yes, No, Maybe
http://arabwomanblues.blogspot.com/2010/04/yes-no-maybe.html
"I keep reading articles about the torture that went on and still goes on in Iraq and Afghanistan, Guantanamo and all other shadow prisons...in Eastern Europe, in the Middle East and in Africa...
And the questioning is always, did the americans, canadians, english coalition authorities know about it? Did they all receive direct orders, did they engage and participate in it too, was it a policy, how widespread was it...etc etc..
Bullshit question.
And all act oh so shocked...us the americans, us the canadians, us the english, us the poles, us whoever the fuck it is who is there...Could it be? YES IT CAN BE!
Fuck you and everything you represent. Oh and by the way, the same american filth unit responsible for Abu Ghraib is heading back to Baghdad.."
But they DID NOT LIE about 9/11 just WMD and a long list of other things. It's the one truth the pathological liars and megalomaniacal psychopaths would not betray for the sake of their political integrity. And anyone else with a difference of opinion is just a whacko.

The Genocide of Arab Sunnis in Iraq
http://arabwomanblues.blogspot.com/2010/04/genocide-of-arab-sunnis-in-ir... [157]
"I have not ceased repeating and I will repeat it again today - there was/is a genocide within a greater genocide in Iraq. The smaller genocide, if one can appropriately call it that - is the genocide against Arab Sunnis...300,000 Arab Sunnis were murdered by the Shiite militias for the year 2006 alone.."

A 1 Minute Visit to Purgatory
http://arabwomanblues.blogspot.com
"So imagine for a minute, an army live the above, walking into your cities, raping and torturing your men, women and children, "smoking you out" if you move in your own streets, run over your cars if you did not move when asked to, "lit you up" if you got too close, shot your taxi drivers for no reason and threw a few others of you off the bridge after interrogation, raped your teenage girls and wives and set their families on fire,
destroyed your homes, walked into your central banks and just robbed your money, stole your museums and destroyed your historical sites - not that you have any - burned your fields, built walls around your neighborhoods, bombed our churches, pissed and spat on your bibles, left your hospitals and schools in shambles, murdered your scientists, professors, doctors, invited Canada with its armed militias to torture and finish off the rest of you,
exiled millions of you, turned millions of your wives into widows and children into orphans, and you into beggars, used DU and white phosphorous and more, and more..
And last but not least, arrested and brutally tortured members of your government... "

"Ironically, the Canadians indirectely provide more support for us in Iraq than most of those 46 countries that are fully supporting us. It's kind of an odd situation." US Ambassador Paul Cellucci

Howling Wind: The Unrepented Genocide

"The other day I was reading the New York Review of Books in a bookstore cafe. I saw a large ad on the bottom corner of a page ; it began with with this quote in bold capitals: 'WHY IS IT A CRIME FOR ONE MAN TO MURDER ANOTHER BUT NOT FOR A GOVERNMENT TO KILL MORE THAN A MILLION PEOPLE?'
My first reaction, before I read further, was a feeling of surprise that someone had articulated the case against the Iraq war so clearly..."
Resisting the Occupier
http://nebuchadnezzar-ii.blogspot.com/2010/04/resisting-occupier.html [164]
"Let me be clear from the beginning. I am fond of the Taliban, fond of the Palestine Resistance and it has nothing to do with being a Ba'athist or not. This Resistance is just brave. I mean the Palestinians have been resisting for more than seventy years, and the Afghanis...their country has been occupied three times and three times they fought the occupier fiercely.
I am not going to talk about the Iraq Resistance because it is still a new Resistance and there are a lot of mistakes in the way they organize themselves - plus the biggest mistake that it is only one-sided. It is a Sunni Resistance when the right thing would be that it be an IRAQI resistance..."
