The Babble Book Club will be hosting author Pasha Malla for the discussion of his novel and current Babble Book Club selection People Park Tuesday January 15 8:30 p.m EST/5:30 p.m. PST. Pasha will join the conversation for one hour on our established babble thread to answer questions and receive comments.

Along with People Park, Pasha Malla has been highly celebrated for his other books All Our Grandfathers are Ghosts, a collection of poems, and The Withdrawal Method, the Trillium Book Award and the Danuta Gleed Literary Prize winning collection of short stories. Malla presents a unique blend of humour and prose with supremely real details of life in his writing that allow readers to fall down the rabbit hole of his observations and get wrapped up in his narratives. The discussion is sure to be an interesting and informative conversation and all lovers of Pasha Malla are welcome to join!

As always in the Babble Book Club, we encourage new and seasoned readers to join in and discuss their thoughts and opinions about the novel on the thread while reading or they can wait for the final discussion to ask questions and leave comments. The advantage of our online book club is that readers can choose when and how they would like to interact with fellow readers in the forum: as an early bird with lots of opinions, a fly on the wall taking it all in, or a stickler for the conventional — there is room for us all.

For those new to babble or the Babble Book Club, here are some easy steps and tips to get going:

1. To ask questions and submit comments, you must register as a rabble.ca user, which creates an account that allows access to babble. babble is rabble.ca’s discussion board and online community where users can discuss ideas and opinions and signing up is free and easy! Any questions about babble can be answered or asked on this thread as well as the babble FAQ page.

2. The Babble Book Club sets up babble threads before our final discussion to allow for ongoing conversation — check out our thread for People Park. A babble thread just means the ‘page’ where various babble users (babblers) can post their comments and questions. Babblers post in ‘real-time’ and can also quote other users, use emoticons or post links!

3. Our author discussion with Pasha Malla will take place Tuesday January 15 8:30 p.m EST/5:30 p.m PST in ‘real-time’. The author will be present for one hour to answer questions and comments and more Babble Book Club members will be present as this time for a more interactive conversation. After the ‘official discussion’ the thread will remain open for readers to post questions and comments; however, they may not be responded to immediately!

So keep reading People Park and get ready for our conversation with Pasha Malla as it is sure to be an interesting one!

Happy reading!
