The Call Out:

On October 15 2011, 5000 people gathered at the Vancouver Art Gallery to voice their urgent concerns about a broad and diverse range of social and economic issues, to show their support for the global Occupy movement and to launch our own occupation as part of the global struggle against economic inequality, environmental destruction, and political corruption. These issues have not gone away.

We, concerned citizens of Vancouver, of Canada, and of the world, are still hungry for the changes that we must make to our ailing economies, our unresponsive political systems, and for the sustainable relationship we must develop with the natural environment.

On Saturday September 15 2012, let’s gather at Grandview Park to show our continuing support for and solidarity with Occupy Wall Street and the anniversary of their taking of Liberty Square, in the heart of Manhattan’s financial district, on September 17 2011.

When we’re together, let’s figure out how we might move forward together, upon what principles and foundation, and how we will mark our own anniversary of October 15.

Let’s figure out how to begin again, and get back to facilitating social, economic, and political change. Let’s continue the struggle.

Speakers! Discussion! Reflections on the year of occupations!

Bring your love. Bring your indignation. Bring your friends.
