Show Notes:
Rolling Stone magazine recently came out with a list of the 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs of All Time [9], which included only three female-fronted tracks [10]. With so many great female emcees out there, why are women so underrepresented in hip-hop and how can we change that?
Meghan Murphy speaks with Glennisha Morgan [11], a multimedia journalist, photographer and filmmaker who runs Fembassy [12], a blog site that is dedicated to female emcees and women in hip-hop. She is currently working on a documentary about female MCs called Turn Me Up [13]. Support her project at Indiegogo [14].
