Gladson Makowa is a producer for the Story Workshop in Malawi, a group which creates radio dramas on a wide range of issues. He is also a writer for Farm Radio International, a Canadian-based, not-for-profit organization working in direct partnership with approximately 300 radio broadcasters in 39 African countries to fight poverty and food insecurity. Gladson was recently honoured with the George Atkins Communications Award that recognises rural radio broadcasters for their outstanding contributions to the field. His script "Manure the Magic Worker" was the winner of a competition on the topic of "Farmers Strategies for Adapting to Climate Change". Gladson spoke with Leah Gerber of the Ontarion and Scott on a visit to Guelph on his Canadian speaking tour.
