Episode Eight - picknik

As you might know, Adobe will soon be shipping a baby bum smackin' new version of it's uber imaging editing program, Photoshop. It will be part of Creative Suite 3 and will cost about the same as two pairs of Ralph Lauren underpants, around $700. Now, sure, Photoshop can resize your images, help you prep them for a coffee table book or, heck make French Toast and walk your badger, but I'm here to tell you, you don't need it. Nope, not with picnic online you don't. Picnik at picnik.com is everything you need in an online image prep program, and then some. Best, of all, at least for now, it's free. That's more than 700 times cheaper than Photoshop. Picnik is stunningly powerful. You can upload an image from your computer, from Flickr, from elsewhere on the web or even live from your webcam. Then you can crop, resize, change the exposure, add effects and generally tweak that puppy to your heart's content. Once you're done you can send it back to your desktop or to Flickr, your blog or email it to a pal. Picnik is a web 2.0 that makes me smile. It's just so darned easy, powerful and friendly.
