Since government support for housing co-ops dried up in the 1990s, fewer than 300 new co-op units have been created outside of Quebec. The Tyee recently hosted a panel discussion asking if co-operative housing be reinvented for the 21st century. We speak with journalist Monte Paulsen, author of a series of articles about housing co-ops.
