Workers in a number of municipalities around the Lower Mainland have been without a contract for over 7 months.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees says that the GVRD Labour Relations Bureau is demanding rollbacks at a time when city coffers are full.
CUPE is also concerned that the municipalities are asking for a 39-month contract that will expire immediately after the 2010 Olympics.
