There are about 900 American military bases around the world. Peace activists in many countries are working to close them down.

Since 2003, a broad coalition of anti-war groups has been working to oppose US bases around the world and there have been some significant successes. Wilbert van der Zeijden is with the Trans-National Institute in Holland. He explains the work of the global anti-war network No Bases.
