A group of welders were recruited from India and discovered that the wage and working conditions they were promised didn't materialize.

Indian workers paid as much as $20,000 to recruiters in India on the promise of permanent resident cards and well-paying jobs.

Instead they found themselves working for poverty wages on short-term contracts.

We speak about their situation with David Bacon, a California-based photo-journalist.
