Yosef Grodzinsky's book exposes the plight of Holocaust survivors and displaced persons trying to rebuild their lives after WWII. The book describes the mass migration of Jewish refugees into Germany and the establishment of DP camps. The survivors were not always interested in Palestine immigration. In response, the Zionists instituted forced conscription into the Israel Defense Force and prevented the rescue of child survivors.
