The reprisals following the destruction of the World Trade Center have been infinitely more destructive than the attack itself. Hundreds of thousands of people have been caught in post 9/11 violence. Now India is faced with the Mumbai attacks. Over 170 people and the call for vengeance is loud in some quarters.
Hari Sharma is with South Asians for Secularism and Democracy and professor emeritus at SFU. He talks about the government policies that may have led to the assaults and the choices facing the Indian and Pakistani governments in the aftermath.
