The Ruckus in Ottawa Part 4: Ottawa Pop 1979-2004
Episode 4 (and it's bonus segment, Episode 4B) deal with a few things. We have a whack of great Ottawa pop songs from the late 70s through to the mid 00s, but there is something a little deeper in these shows. When I was looking for local politicians to join in the praise of the Ottawa music scene, I emailed every MP and MPP in town...even the good folks at Ottawa City Hall. I got one response, from NDP MP Paul Dewar.
I met with Paul in his office to discuss Ottawa arts and music, and he was kind enough to provide 2 song intros, in addition to our great chat about Project 4000 (see Episode 4B for a complete interview about it).
This episode was mostly recorded with Fateema Sayani, local music journalist and the Editor of Ottawa Magazine. We hung out at the Vietnamese Noodle House on Somerset Street, smack in the middle of Ottawa's China Town.
