I've developed a new respect for hypocrisy in light of B.C.'s Burnaby South byelection. Not long-lived I hope, but special to this cruddy moment.
The federal Liberals name Richard Lee, a former long-time member of the provincial legislature, to run in next month’s byelection in Burnaby South against NDP leader Jagmeet Singh.
With polls now showing Singh ahead in a byelection race, he still has to position the NDP as distinctive alternative to the Liberals.
The delay in calling a by-election in B.C, where Jagmeet Singh is a declared candidate might have less to do with the NDP leader’s candidacy and more with a pipeline cutting right through the riding.
