On both Iran and Israel, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird seems to almost deliberately seek to humiliate both himself and the country he is supposed to represent on the international stage.
The Harper government's foreign policy has made us the Ugly Canadian on the world stage. Stopping and reversing this foreign policy will require, for starters, a vigorous and sustained public debate.
The reckless escalation of aggression against Iran continues apace. The plausible result is an uncontrollable conflict that will spread throughout the Middle East and beyond.

Today's agreement by the EU to impose an oil embargo on Iran brings the world closer to a war. Stephen Harper seems to be fanning the flames.
We speak with Yves Engler on the imperialist nature of Canadian foreign policy. The effects of Canada's bombing of Libya, and the potential for war against Syria and Iran, are discussed.
It is deeply regrettable that Iran may one day join the not-so-exclusive club of nations that possess nuclear weapons. But I don't see how the world convinces Iran it's not entitled to such weapons.
