In Zimbabwe, human rights activists are not supported in their work, but often detained and beaten instead. Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA) is an organization of women's human rights defenders that peacefully protest to demand better access to food, health care and education for all Zimbabweans.
Members of the local Tunisian community and supporters will rally outside the central branch of the Vancouver Public Library.

The dictator Ben Ali fled Tunisia last week after sustained mass protests against his decades-long rule. Ben Ali's family has Canadian connections and investments. In Montreal, rallies have been held outside his son-in-law's mansion.
