MP Kennedy Stewart is sponsoring petition against the TransMountain pipeline

As of December 2015, e-petitions that are sponsored by an MP and which have garnered at least 500 signatures can be tabled in Federal Parliament.  This means the government must  provide a written response, posted online, within 45 days.

Kennedy Stewart, MP Burnaby South, NDP, sponsored the motion that revised the archaic petition rules for the federal government.

Lower Mainland residents: Voting ends May 29th.

Between March 16 and May 29, 2015 the provincial government of British Columbia is holding a referendum to determine a revenue source for transportation expansions in Vancouver.  The plan includes more buses, shuttle service for people living with disabilities, two light rail lines, and an extension of the light metro SkyTrain system halfway to the Vancouver campus of the University of British Columbia. Fight for $15 Action

Friday, April 1, 2016 - 7:30am - 8:30am

Commercial-Broadway Skytrain Station Vancouver, BC
49° 16' 57.8244" N, 123° 7' 14.6568" W

As of April 1st, BC will have the lowest minimum wage in Canada. The BC Federation of Labour (BCFED) is holding an early morning action at Commercial-Broadway SkyTrain Station. It may be April Fool’s Day but living on minimum wage ain’t no joke.

There will be performers and great props for photo ops.

BCFED is calling for a strong showing of supporters and people leafletting and collecting petition signatures.
