Richard III, 9/11 and the relentless drive for political power
Last Sunday in Stratford I saw Seana McKenna play Shakespeare's Richard III in a stunning version of that amazing play. It was also deeply relevant to us politically. Much of that has to do with casting an actress as a king.
Kenya Open Data Initiative
In July 2011, the Kenyan government launched Africa's first national open data initiative -- the Kenya Open Data Initiative (KODI). KODI aims to make public government data accessible to all Kenyans, and to encourage data-driven decision making in government.
The Kenyan government believes that by making data public via KODI, government transparency and accountability will improve.

Fair-Play Alliance is a Slovakian-based, non-governmental organization that aims to increase transparency in the country's political party financing system.
In an effort to encourage Slovakian politicians to adopt increasingly transparent financial practices, the watchdog organization maintains publicly accessible databases containing the financial information of political parties and their representatives for monitoring and investigation purposes.
Transparency International
Transparency International (TI) is a non-governmental organization based out of Berlin, Germany. Since its 1993 establishment, TI has sought to rid the world of corruption.
To date, TI boasts more than 90 locally founded national chapters across the globe.
Corruption Fighters' Tool Kit
The Corruption Fighters' Tool Kit is a project of Transparency International (TI), a non-governmental organization dedicated to the fight against corruption.
In particular, TI's Corruption Fighters' Tool Kit aims to provide youth with anti-corruption education. By targeting young people, TI believes that ethical behaviour, and distaste for corrupt practices, can be ingrained at an early age.
I Paid a Bribe
I Paid a Bribe is a project of Janaagraha - a Bangalore-based non-profit organization. The ‘I Paid a Bribe’ initiative utilizes crowdsourced information to identify instances of corruption across India. Essentially, the project aims to decipher corrupt governmental services and work with local authorities to affect change. By sharing and circulating corruption-related instances amongst the citizenry, the hope is that the Indian government will be influenced into taking action against corruption countrywide.
Information for the project is collected via citizen reports anonymously submitted online.
