I am not watching CBC's election coverage anymore - The CBC Doesn't Seem to Know the NDP is the Official Opposition Now

Well, it isn't the electio anymore but the CBC is still up to its ususal tricks.

There was a story on the rising price of gas. Who did they quote, Dan McTeague. Wait a minute. Didn't he lose? Oh, did the NDP hold a Press Conference in response to this? Nope, it wasn't on the CBC news, so it couldn't have happened. And, who wants to be the "CBC Official Leader of the Oppostion"? Why, its Rocket Man, Marc Garneau.

What's on CTV? Well a lot less "Liberal Talk", and what's this, a story about a Wikilieaks, "leak", that says the US doesn't take Harper seriously on Artic Soverignty?

I mean, we New Dems protected the CBC for years. I know I am probably beating a dead horse here and if no one comments, I understand that. But, man this makes me so damn mad!

I know what the next attack on the NDP is going to be - Heard in on CBC Cross Country Checkup

Well, a theme is beginning to emerge.

I was listening to Cross Country checkup. Starting with John Manley's appearance on the show, Rex Murphy slowly build up the meme that the NDP is not going to be able to function, after it is ripped to shreds by its Soverigntist friendly Quebec caucus.

It took 5 tries but I finally got on Cross Country Checkup

I finally got on Cross Country checkup today after 5 tries.  The topic was "Where do you think this election is going", but turned into "Don't vote NDP or Harper wil get a majority".

It started with "Linda" from Vancouver, who has voted NDP before, but has voted Liberal for quite some time now. There were other submissions from other "Lindas" from across Canada, whom all said basically the same thing. I also counted two identifible Tories, and 3 other New Dems.

A glimpse behind the curtain that hides the Harper Conservatives: Are plans afoot to kill the CBC?

Hockey, Politics, Corporations

Last week we once  again witnessed politics trumping principle in the swift, complete co-operation of the four main political parties in agreeing to shift the french debates up a day to allow Canadian viewers to watch the Habs game. What does this say about the parties' underlying  attitudes towards and trust of the Canadian public?  Something sadly cynical, I'm afraid:  that Canadians can't be trusted to choose the potential good of their country over a mere hockey game, that "sports" means more than the fate of our country, that the parties fear viewers might just not tune in because most would prefer hockey to the debate?  Alas, they're probably right.

Friends of CBC campaign video from Saskatoon

Hi.

Here's a video I made about the Conservative candidate in the Saskatoon-Rosetown-Biggar and how she's trying to avoid speaking to voters and meeting with citizen groups during the election campaign.

Basically we hunted her down at a Conservative party pep rally when Stephen Harper came to town and taped the results.  I made this video while working on the Friends of Canadian Broadcasting project.

Please take a few minutes to watch this video, and if you're on Facebook, please link to it to help spread the word.

So - How do Rabblers feel about the job the media is doing?

So, I am watching CTV last night. Another story on gas prices. What does the reporter say the issue is about; Libya, and shortages of gas. No mention of speculation, falling, deman, you know the rest...blah, blah, blah.

Then today, the Free Press has a story where it repeats a Lib talking point that the Libs will hold on to Winnipeg North no problem and that they are concentrating their efforts on beating Bruinooge.

For anyone who knows Winnipeg North, this election will ultimately come down to who gets out the vote. This was true when Pagtakhan ran, and it is no less true now. The Libs simply don't have the voters to win if New Dems go to the polls.

So, how about it folks, any thoughts at this point of the campaign. Man, I hate the MSM!
