Corpses in your mouths? There's an App for that.

"People who talk about revolution and class struggle without referring explicitly to everyday life, without understanding what is subversive about love and what is positive in the refusal of constraints, such people have corpses in their mouths." --Raoul Vaneigem

The Daily

Quote:
This week's launch of Rupert Murdoch's iPad "newspaper," The Daily, is a milestone: It's the first significant attempt, since the Web conquered the digital world in 1995, to create a major new media product that embraces technology yet spurns the Web -- and the public Internet, too. Chris Anderson's Wired "Web is Dead" package was the warning shot for this phenomenon, but The Daily's introduction puts it in front of us in palpable touch-screen form. It boldly declares: We're digital people but we're not Web people.

Why do I say that The Daily spurns the Web and the Net? I mean, beyond the obvious reason that there is no Web site that offers its contents in a convenient form each day. It's not just that. The Daily also contains no links.

Bloom Box

bloom energy, bloom boxes, bloom electrons, clean energy Bloom Energy creates strategy to make Bloom Box accessible Bloom Energy is a CA business that has developed a fuel cell called the Bloom Box. This could help many people get Bloom Box without needing a [spam link removed] to sign up.

As the body scanning issue as grown more heated, The Transportation Security Administration has been assuring air travelers the pictures are never saved for future prying eyes.

Newby..

I try to be interested in everything. (If you don't take an interest, it may come back to bite you in the ass!)

I'm currently wondering if Feminism, Unions, & the Left in general can survive the towering current of ignorance flowing through all aspects of our lives these days.

The near total lack of interesting thoughtful media really distresses me. The pandering of news media to the lowest common denominator & the change to 'Opinion Journalism' in the U.S. is frightening!

O.K.... In my day to day life, I spend a lot of time with my adult daughter, & my Mom. My hubby passed away 6 years ago this month. My Mom is handicapped & 96 years old.
