Jacob Appelbaum

Jacob Appelbaum is an independent American computer security researcher and a core member of the Tor project. Currently, Appelbaum is employed by the University of Washington.

After representing Julian Assange at the 2010 HOPE -- Hackers on Planet Earth -- conference, Appelbaum's links to the whistleblowing WikiLeaks website quickly afforded him mainstream recognition. Since that appearance, Appelbaum has become a frequent target of American law enforcement agencies.
