Guiness World record holder for most playing cards memorized (59), Dave Farrow, will give a talk about memory development and be the arbiter of the contest. International Grandmaster of Memory Andy Fong from Hong Kong will make a demonstration of his memory skills and give a talk on the subject of memory.
The event is free but registration is required as space is limited. We register people on a first come first served basis. Reserve at memorizetoronto@yahoo.ca and please state whether you wish to compete or simply attend as a spectator.
For the greater part, this event will be a test of Canadian contenders to find the canadian with the best memory. Two tests will be performed. Speed playing card memorization, where each contestant has 5 minutes to memorize a deck of playing cards and then 5 minutes to recall it. This test is done twice and the best score kept. The other test will be a Random Words test where each contestant is given a list of random words to study for 15 minutes and then 30 minutes to recall the words in order. 30$ to go to the winner along with the title of Canadian Memory Champion 2012
