Cantores Celestes Women's Choir celebrates the 300th Anniversary of Pergolesi's birth with 'Stabat Mater' & the Canadian Premiere of 'Faust' by Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel.
Conductor Kelly Galbraith directs Cantores Celestes in some of the most beautiful music ever written for treble voices with Emmanuel Chabrier's 'Ode à la musique' and the Canadian premiere of 'Faust' by Fanny Hensel, (Felix Mendelssohn's sister). David Conte's 'In Praise of Music' captures the grandeur of emotion in the texts of John Dryden and Percy B. Shelley as the singers, 'float towards heaven.' Pianist Ellen Meyer, organist William O'Meara, the Emperor String Quartet join Cantores Celestes for this exceptional evening. Special guest singers TBA.
A $1,000 donation will be made to Because I am a girl: One billion people live in extreme poverty - 70 per cent are women and girls. It's estimated 20 million girls never go to school.
