Normal 0 Let us help you make sense of what is going on in the world where two staples of modern life, food and money, are both under threat.

Octopus Books is pleased to present an evening with Jim Stanford, the Globe and Mail economics columnist and author of the hugely successful Economics for Everyone, and Wayne Roberts, food security activist and author of the essential The No-Nonsense Guide to World Food.

Both Stanford and Roberts examine structures that modern society has been built upon that are failing. Looking back at a year of a crumbling global economy and food riots on several continents, the discussion will look at how we got where we are in both instances and where the parallel collapse of economic and industrialized food systems might overlap.

Free reception with light refreshments beginning at 6:00 p.m. and speakers beginning at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free.
