The West Kootenay Women's Association and Amnesty International Nelson are showing three films celebrating the achievements of women as agents of change and the need to continue to take action for women's human rights.

Strong Coffee tells the story of Café Feminino-a revolutionary idea that is helping people in need all over the world. Café Feminino beans are the first coffee beans grown entirely by women farmers. Café Feminino coffee will be available for sale.

Marnie Beninger, the local director of the Pura Vida Foundation will present an update of the foundations work to improve the lives of children and youth in Latin America and specifically to provide marginalized and exploited young girls with basic necessities providing an enhanced quality of life.

The film Stolen Sisters takes viewers on a journey across Canada to hear stories of the estimated 500 indigenous women who have gone missing in the past 20 years. Amnesty International charges that Canada is putting Indigenous women in danger of kidnapping and violent deaths through racism and indifference.
