Throughout the summer we host an evening of presentations called the Fuller Terrace Lecture Series. The Lecture Series is held in the backyard of 2664 Fuller Terrace, with the intention of bringing people together to share stories and experiences while building connections within the community.

We are happy to let you know that we will indeed be running six lectures in the summer of 2012!

In the name of growing and forging new connections (and to keep everyone on their toes) we have decided to change things up a little bit this year. First of all, we will be kicking off the 2012 season on August 14th and running the lectures into September.

The second major change for us this year is that we will be mobile, conducting three lectures in Halifax and three lectures in towns across Nova Scotia! The lectures will still take place on Tuesdays from 9-10 and, as always, will happen rain or shine!

The 2012 Lectures will address the following subjects:

August 14 – Halifax “How to be an Adult” Adult:1. Fully developed and mature. 2. Relating to, intended for, or befitting adults.

August 21 – Halifax “Guilty Pleasures” Fluff, spectacle, pop culture, vanity, cigarettes, pizza and donuts.

August 28 – Halifax “The End” A one-way ticket apoca-lecture or an ending of any kind.

September 11 – Sydney “Kindness and Cruelty” People do wonderful things for each other and horrible things to each other- how do we make sense of this in the world?

September 18 – Lunenburg “We the Living.” Stories of a ghostly presence; ESP and paranormal activity; perspectives pragmatic or spiritual on death, dying and the afterlife.

September 25 – Wolfville “A History”

Textbook history, changing history, fabricated history, family history.

Presentations do not have to be lectures! Presentations can be fact, fiction, essays, show and tells, artist talks, puppet shows, experiences, explanations, excuses...feel free to use your imagination! Interested parties are asked to submit a proposal of their presentation for review. Presentations must be a maximum of 15 minutes in length. A podium, sound equipment, and digital projector are available for use. For more information or to submit a proposal, email fullershowandtell@gmail.com.

Deadline for submissions is August 1st, 2012.
