The bailout of banks during the economic crisis has created big deficits. Governments around the world are asking ordinary workers to pay for these deficits through “austerity” measures—cutting jobs and public spending.
In Greece, the response to austerity has been a massive strike wave with thousands of workers refusing to pay for a crisis they did not create. Workers are also responding in Ireland, Portugal, Iceland, Turkey and Canada. Join us to find out more about these fantastic struggles.
