In a unique collaboration the Griffin Poetry Prize and the W2 Media Café are working together to create Griffin Vancouver: A Celebration of Poetry.

The Griffin Vancouver event is the first time that the Griffin Poetry Prize has allowed their Award Ceremony to be broadcast beyond the annual Toronto event itself.

Attendees at the Vancouver event will see a live broadcast of the Awards Ceremony from Toronto and experience live readings from prominent BC poets Evelyn Lau (Vancouver’s Poet Laureate), Comox’s Matt Rader, Jen Currin, Sonnet L’Abbe, Zaccheus Jackson Nyce, and Marita Dachsel.

The Vancouver poets’ readings will be video recorded, livestreamed and archived for posterity.

More poets are to be announced.

The Griffin Poetry Prize is the world’s most generous poetry award. A total of $200,000 goes to one Canadian and one international poet who writes in English.
