What is Anti-Oppression? Why should you care about it?
In this four-week introductory course, May Lui, anti-racist anti-oppression educator, will be talking about all the issues that you need to know to begin looking at how to be more aware of anti-oppression to make you a better ally, activist and thinker. We will talk about why this is important, as activists, as humans, as people working for social justice and a better world for all. We’ll talk about what you bring to the discussion, your privileges and marginalities, noticing when oppression is taking place (including when WE do it), the basics of being an ally, applying what you’ve learned to real life situations, and much more
There will be a package of readings distributed for this workshop in Week 1, with required readings for each week.
$110. No refunds. Minimum number of participants is 6. Pre-registration is required.
