In May 2009, the Haivens and their two sons participated in a study tour of Israel and the West Bank. The Haivens will report on the treatment of Palestinians under occupation on the West Bank and the lesser known situation of Palestinian citizens of Israel. Judy and Larry Haiven are management professors at Saint Mary's University in Halifax. Both Jews, they have been active in the struggle for a just peace in Israel/Palestine for many years. They are currently members of Independent Jewish Voices - Canada.
