While the Palestinian leadership turned to the UN, the Israeli government approved hundreds of new housing units in settlements in the West Bank. The Real News' Lia Tarachansky, a former settler herself, will be showing some of her video reports and speaking about the reality on the ground and the possibilities for change. She will also be previewing parts of her upcoming documentary Seven Deadly Myths which deals with Israeli collective denial from the stories of those who fought in the 1948 war that established the state. Organized by the Canadians, Arabs, Jews for a Just Peace, Independent Jewish Voices, the Halifax Peace Coalition and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.
