Israel is attempting to formally impose an apartheid regime over Palestine in the guise of a two-state solution, which is the thrust of the so-called "Annapolis Peace Process." But if it can't succeed with that, then it will simply continue to strengthen the de facto apartheid regime that exists today, by turning it into a permanent state of warehousing. Taking a cue from Naomi Klein and others, Halper will show how the Palestinians are the first entire people to be classified as "surplus humanity," and that Israel is exporting this model internationally.

*Background:*

He is the co-founder and coordinator of the Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions http://www.icahd.org/eng/. He took part in the Free Gaza flotilla which broke the Israeli siege of Gaza. He was nominated for the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize by the American Friends Service Committee, together with Palestinian intellectual Ghassan Andoni, for his work "to liberate both the Palestinian and Israeli people from the yoke of structural violence."
