Lecture Topic: How Israel's Impunity is Transforming International Law

Prof. Bisharat will use the recent assault on Gaza to discuss how Israeli jurists are deliberately trying to rewrite international law to its advantage, and make otherwise illegal activities legal. In addition, the long-term international law implications of unpunished Israeli abuses will be examined.

Lecture Topic: The Role of the Israeli Legal System in the Occupation of Palestinian Territory

Mr. Sultany will discuss the role of the Israeli judicial system in the oppression of Palestinians living in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.  This includes the military court system, differential treatment of settlers and Palestinians, and its role in upholding international humanitarian law violations such as land confiscations and home demolitions.
