March with Labour for Palestine at the Labour Day Parade!

Join Labour for Palestine as we march in Toronto's Labour Day Parade for the fourth consecutive year. This past year, we saw the brutal military assault on Gaza, the on-going expansion of settlements and the Apartheid Wall in the West Bank, continued house demolitions, mass arrests and so many other human rights violations throughout Palestine. The global movement for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS), continued to grow with major victories internationally - including dockworkers in Durban refusing to unload an Israeli ship in February and Hampshire College becoming the first American college to divest from Israeli Apartheid. Here in Canada and Quebec, we have had a year of powerful mobilizations in support of the Palestinian people, including mass demonstrations against the assault on Gaza that saw workers from many unions taking to the streets to demand an end to the attacks. There were also important successes within trade unions including pro-Palestine resolutions being passed by CUPE’s Ontario University Workers Coordinating Committee (OUWCC), and CSQ - the third largest labour federation in Quebec representing over 180,000 workers - passing a resolution in support of the Palestinian BDS Campaign.
A visible Palestine solidarity contingent in the parade is more important this year than ever. Our many victories have resulted in a backlash against Palestine solidarity activists and their allies in trade unions. Join us on Labour Day to send a strong message that Canadian workers stand in solidarity with Palestinian workers and all Palestinian people.
Labour for Palestine is a network of activists involved in promoting and strengthening the BDS campaign across a variety of Canadian unions as a sub-committee of the Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid (CAIA).
