Canadian composers Ana Sokolovic and Analia Llugdar will talk about how their work is inspired by Mexican, Latin American and other elements.
Ana Sokolovic’s newest Soundstreams commissioned work will be performed by sopranos Virginian Hatfield and Eve-Lyn de la Haye, mezzo-soprano Kristina Szabó and bass-baritone Giles Tomkins who will just be back from performing at the Cervantino Festival in Mexico.
On October 20th at Mexico’s Tambuco Percussion Ensemble and Voices concert Soundstreams will present 3 world premieres. Javier Alvarez (Mexico) and Analia Llugdar’s compositions are for percussion and voices, Ana Sokolovic’s piece is for 4 voices. El sueño de Aquiles by Analia Llugdar is inspired by Mexican revolutionary Aquiles Serdán.
