OCAD University is launching two new graduate programs in September, 2011: Digital Futures (master's & graduate diploma)* and Inclusive Design (master's)*. The graduate program in Digital Futures features a unique partnership with the Canadian Film Centre (CFC) Media Lab, and builds on OCAD U's demonstrated strengths in practice and research in the fields of digital art, design and media.

The new graduate program in Digital Futures is a unique, practice-based program for future innovators, leaders, and creators of digital media and new technologies. The program is situated within the Digital Futures Initiative (DFI) at OCAD University, a set of new cross-disciplinary programs in practice, research and innovation related to digital media and its emergent developments. The DFI builds on OCAD U's historic strength in digital curriculum and research, providing ongoing innovation and
foresight in curriculum, teaching, and creative digital practice as well as the CFC Media Lab's strength in prototyping new interactive possibilities in the realm of digital media.

Recognizing the high level of demonstrated need and demand for designers and developers with specialized knowledge in inclusive design principles and practices, both in Canada and abroad, OCAD University is co-launching with the CFC Media Lab an innovative new graduate program in Inclusive Design. Inclusive Design is design that is inclusive of the full range of human diversity with respect to ability, language, culture, gender, age and other forms of human difference.
