Dear friends,

On August 8, 2012, I heard of my father’s death. I didn’t visit Iran for his funeral or any of the several memorial services held in his honour. In fact, I haven’t been back since I left in 2010.

I could not help writing poem after poem, though. Soon I had a collection of poems addressed to him.

Now the book is being launched on January 17, 2017, at Supermarket Restaurant and Bar in Toronto.

Huge thanks to James Dewar, from Piquant Press, for the publication opportunity and his editorial feedback; Kate Marshall Flaherty and Cy Strom who read the manuscript at different stages of its development; Sahar Homami whose calligraphy uncovers the book; and Sue Reynolds for the cover design; and to my poet friends who have graciously agreed to be tribute readers at the launch: Jacqueline Valencia, Georgia Wilder, IF (Ian French), Charles C. Smith, Ali Ibrahimi and Michael Fraser.

You are kindly invited to attend and it is my request that you spread the word and invite people who might be interested.

Below is the link to the Facebook event as well as the link to the publisher’s website.

Much love,

Bänoo Zan
