Discussions from the panel will address the transnational and intersectional politics of emerging activist movements like Occupy and SlutWalk in order to look at the dynamics of local and global protest, especially as they relate to marginalised people within and outside the movements. Speakers will consider the causes and consequences of the increasing globalisation of protest, its relation to increasingly globalised power, and how they negotiate politics of power and privilege in their organizing..
