PORTRAIT OF RESISTANCE illuminates the pioneering collaboration of two renowned Toronto-based artists. For the last 35 years Carole Condé and Karl Beveridge have worked with each other and a host community activists to produce politically engaged staged photographs rooted in the stories of working people. PORTRAIT OF RESISTANCE brings older photo works alive as characters step out to speak and challenge the unfolding story from their point of view. We also witness Condé & Beveridge in action as they produce new works about the environment, Toronto's G20, and our current economic crisis.
