We will be gathering outside MP Heibert's office as part of weekly demonstrations at the offices of MPs who have voted against Bill C-304 or have otherwise failed to endorse a national housing plan.
Our main message: Canada is the only G8 nation without a national housing strategy. We are in a housing crisis that impacts millions of Canadians, with increasing numbers of homeless people in our cities and neighborhoods. A comprehensive, funded national housing strategy will deliver results that are better for individuals, better for communities, better for the economy, and better for government.
We hope you will join us, either on your own or representing your local organization. Feel free to forward this information as well. The address for the MPs office is below. We will bring some signs and banners but people can bring their own signs addressing issues of affordable housing and homelessness as well.
This event is part of building up energy for a National Day of Action on housing in October. It is a chance to network with other housing advocates and have your voice heard.
