Resistance, Refugees, Rights and Return, the Vancouver Delegation to Gaza 2012 will travel to Gaza in early summer 2012. As part of our delegation, we will meet with health work, refugee rights, BDS, women's, students and youth organizations and work to build links between progressive movements here and the Palestinian revolutionary left.

We will be holding a community reportback in Vancouver on July 22, and in the meantime, will be producing blogs, videos, and a written report documenting our experience.

Delegates include: Khaled Barakat (delegation coordinator), Brian Campbell, Cy Canuel, Kathy Copps, Charlotte Kates, Aiyanas Ormond, Martha Roberts and Jase Tanner. The delegates work with numerous organizations including the Boycott Israeli Apartheid Campaign, Alliance for People's Health, Seriously Free Speech Committee, Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, International League of People's Struggles, among others. For more biographical information about delegates, please visit vancouver2gaza.org.

The delegation will foster people-to-people solidarity between the participants, activists organizing for justice in Palestine and engaged in decolonization, international solidarity, and other relevant organizing to witness the impact of occupation and colonization, and the Palestinian liberation movement, making personal connections and building links with organizations on the left in Palestine. Delegates will observe the ongoing resistance of the Palestinian people, assess concrete solidarity needs on the ground, and the Palestinian people's commitment to liberate their land and achieve the rights they have been denied for over 64 years.

It will meet with refugees' committees focused on the right of return, and with former political prisoners and prisoner solidarity committees. This delegation will work to build upon and develop organizing strategies based on the experience gained by participating in the delegation, and will challenge Canadian complicity in the dispossession, oppression and occupation of Palestinian people and land.

More people are reading rabble.ca than ever and unlike many news organizations, we have never put up a paywall – at rabble we’ve always believed in making our reporting and analysis free to all. But media isn’t free to produce. rabble’s total budget is likely less than what big corporate media spend on photocopying (we kid you not!) and we do not have any major foundation, sponsor or angel investor. Our only supporters are people and organizations -- like you. This is why we need your help.

If everyone who visits rabble and likes it chipped in a couple of dollars per month, our future would be much more secure and we could do much more: like the things our readers tell us they want to see more of: more staff reporters and more work to complete the upgrade of our website.

We’re asking if you could make a donation, right now, to set rabble on solid footing in 2017.
